Meet the people behind Spotcap
Managing Director UK & NL
Niels has over 20 years of experience working in financial services. After time at ABN Amro and ING, he founded and grew an education business. Niels obtained an MBA at the IE Business School in Madrid and specialised in Strategy & Finance at the NYU Stern School of Business in New York.
Lucy makes sure that the UK office and all HR processes run smoothly. In her previous roles, she has been in charge of operations and office management, and also worked as an accountant for the Crown Estate for several years. Lucy volunteers for several charities, including CoppaFeel!, Marie Curie and St John Ambulance.
Thessa has gained experience as an office manager in the hospitality sector, working for the global travel management team at Rabobank for several years. She enjoys sharing her knowledge, experiences and skills and likes to be part of a motivated and inspiring team in which realising individual projects is also possible.
Ben graduated from Edinburgh University with a first-class degree in Economics and has prior experience working in consultancy. At Spotcap, he uses this experience to optimise all internal processes and run strategic projects across departments. Outside of work, Ben enjoys all things sports-related and is interested in behavioural economics.
After gaining experience at KLM and Air Traffic Control, Janick worked for two years as an IT trainee at Nationale Nederlanden. He is now using his experience to organise operational processes at Spotcap as efficiently as possible.
Kevin had built an extensive partner network for Spotcap in the Netherlands before helping launch its UK operations. He currently manages the partnership and sales support team, while developing strategic partnerships to support the company's sustainable growth.
Darwin looks after a large portfolio of partners, helping them to source funding for their clients. Prior to joining Spotcap, he worked for Barclays, NatWest and Pilatus Bank. Darwin is addicted to sports, enjoys travelling and is always up for catching the latest theatre show.
Nasima oversees a team of sales support managers. Her background is in banking and finance, having previously worked for HSBC and Barclays doing various roles. Nasima holds a bachelor’s degree in English Language and Linguistics.
Artin is the first point of contact for Spotcap’s extensive partner network. He brings with him almost 10 years of experience across commercial and alternative debt, having previously worked for various financial services companies. Artin enjoys travelling, socialising and is a passionate Arsenal supporter.
Veronica manages Spotcap’s growing network of partners. She regularly travels across the UK to meet financial intermediaries to help them raise finance for their clients. Veronica’s international background has helped her master her Italian and Chinese cooking skills.
Ian works with a portfolio of brokers, accountants and solicitors in helping their clients source business finance. He has over 20 years of experience working in commercial finance, including 18 years at NatWest’s business banking arm. A big Arsenal fan, Ian wrote for the club’s fanzine The Gooner for over 14 years.
Amanda works closely with brokers, accountants and other partners to support clients with their unsecured finance needs. She has more than 12 years of experience in the business finance sector, having worked at Barclays Bank, RBS and Lloyds. In her free time, Amanda enjoys travelling the world and cooking.
Liam supports our partners and clients during the entire loan application process. He has over nine years of experience, having worked for several financial services companies previously. Outside of work, Liam spends the majority of his time with his young family. He is a borderline obsessive reader, an avid Arsenal fan, and loves independent live music.
Faton is part of the sales support team at Spotcap. He held various roles with HSBC and was awarded customer's choice advisor in 2017. Faton is a big advocate of creating a balanced lifestyle between family, friends, personal interests and work. His mindset is set on growth and he lives by ''Be yourself, there's only one you''.
Eva manages both internal and external communications and public relations at Spotcap. She worked previously for communications consultancy Greentarget and has also managed the constituency office of Sandra White, Member of the Scottish Parliament. Eva volunteers for several charities and loves the outdoors.
Gijs is an entrepreneurial marketer with a broad commercial background. He gained experience at bol.com, various Rocket Internet companies as well as his own retail firm. Besides his work at Spotcap, Gijs helps founders of start-ups and scale-ups to grow their business.
Darren provides technical website solutions in collaboration with the marketing and product teams. With over ten years of experience, he has previously managed and developed website projects from creation through to completion. In his spare time, Darren loves watching football, running and gaming.
Nicole is responsible for all content creation in the Netherlands and manages the company’s website and SEO efforts. She is passionate about language and a strong copywriter. In her spare time, Nicole runs bootcamp sessions in Vondelpark, tries out new recipes or reads a good book.
Suzan gained seven years of experience as an events manager at Geberit before joining the Spotcap team. Geberit Group operates worldwide and is the European market leader, so Suzan's wealth of experience comes in handy at Spotcap.
Originally from Dublin, Andrew worked in corporate banking & debt restructure with AIB for a number of years. With a keen interest in business lending, he moved to London and joined the fintech industry. Outside of work, Andrew enjoys sports, fitness, reading and cooking.
Originally from New Zealand, Ty joined Spotcap from the Bank of New Zealand, where he was involved with asset finance, business and retail banking as well as lending. Ty is an avid sports fan, has an interest in world history and enjoys exploring what the UK and Europe have to offer.
Duncan determines a business’ creditworthiness applying for a Spotcap loan. He previously worked at Deloitte and for Funding Circle where he gathered accountancy and fintech industry experience. Duncan is a keen sportsman and particularly loves tennis.
